Password Manager
Using a password manager is your best defense when it comes to staying safe online. The days of re-using the same password are long gone. I always stress the importance of creating a strong unique password for each online account that is created. Most if not all password managers have a built-in password generator which helps make each password unique. By having a password manager this makes it so much easier to manage online accounts. Even though there are subscription costs for having a password manager the cost of it pays back dividends. I recommend everyone to do their own research to find out which password manager suits them best because at the end of the day it is an investment that you will be making. If you can't find a password manager that will work for you or isn't affordable, you can always grab a password book. Just be sure to keep it somewhere safe.
Two-Factor Authentication
I always recommend to enable 2FA whenever possible especially with online accounts where you use banking or credit card information. I would never recommend to use text messaging 2FA and would prefer to use a passkey or a one time passcode within my password manager but as I've found out some companies only offer text message based codes which is not always secure.
What is a Passkey?
They are replacements for passwords and are designed to provide websites and apps a passwordless sign-in experience that is both more convenient and more secure.
